Like you said, no solution. Anything proposed will have a downside. So flash forward to the end, the problem never goes away and people continue to complain.

Honestly, this is a very rational response. Thank you.

I understand no solution is perfect, but I would just like to hear the counter solution from the right. I seriously don't hear a single bit of legislation coming from the right. Now I read "just enforce the laws now" but no "here's how to do it right."

I’m not trolling, I am asking your opinion on legislation that targets mental health. I just want to know what the solution looks like as a whole. So you do support putting high risk individuals in institutions, which, I have seen support for reinstating mass mental health insitutiitions. This...

So the problem goes away if we reinstate the mass mental hospital institutions? Do we make pills illegal?

It’s easier to enforce the law on a gun shop owner than someone living in their personal home. If you have a solution for enforcing all 3 of the examples you listed, I’m all ears.

Is anyone opposed to banning firearms to individuals who receive any and all mental health intervention? ie. voluntarily or involuntarily?

Well, the pundits are not elected officials. You are not an elected official. My advice when someone proposes gun reform, ignore the argument. Present your own solution. Otherwise, it’s just Groundhog Day.

Then if people are taking the lazy way out, that’s where new laws need to be proposed and supported. I just suspect that those interjecting the argument are also not willing to change the law.

Do what you feel, but my point is the “mental health problem” has just been a sound bite with no detail added on. What are the policies that improve mental health? I know a list of proposals on gun control, but there’s no reason to clam up when it comes to mental health policy.

This is what I’m asking for. Policy proposals. So are you proposing a change in medication distribution on a national level? Why is this so hard for people to do? No one is shutting you down. Let’s hear the policies!

Nobody? I think I can name a few people that don’t want children to get shot. Columbine happened just a few years after I graduated highschool. How much research has been done on what motivates people to mass murder? What is the solution for an entire population? Is “we have a mental health...

    Off-Topic Mass killings

I keep hearing this is a mental health issue, and I don’t see anyone saying there are no mental health needs in our country. If everyone agrees there’s a problem, where is the solution? Is anyone proposing a way to address the mental health problem? Otherwise, I jist think this is a way for...

No. You are wrong in assuming I disagree with you, but this whole thread is riddled with “don’t change this” and offering no solutions. You said the solution was obvious and offered nothing. There are plenty of things people can do as individuals and family to prevent ourselves and loved ones...
