Before I answer, what do you think these "high offer" schools look for before they hire a coach? I am only assuming you mean schools that are Power 5 and have also competed for a National Title in the last 35 years.

I think there was fear he would be another Golden hire. A head coach at a small program (who was fired from said program) without significant experience as a HC or even a coordinator.
