None of those guys are the exact same size as Pope so they don’t count.

So if he can succeed at under 180 pounds what are you guys crying about? Do you just sit around looking for **** to wring your hands over? Is that what smart guys do? Please fill us dumb guys in.

Mark Pope ain’t 6’1, but you win. Carry on, boo. Pope is doomed to failure because college WRs can’t succeed at under 180 pounds. You win.

Again, what’s the magic cut off with a guy who might be an inch shorter than Pope but still of the same slender body type? How about T. Y. Hilton and Antonio Brown? Interestingly, two South Florida kids who didn’t check the size queen box of our former staffs like Tutu didn’t.

So if Pope is 6 feet and not 5'10 or 5'11, which is what I think he actually is, then is it really that much of a difference? Do you consider a 6' WR a completely different class than the laundry list of 5'10'ish guys with builds similar to Pope who excelled in college? I'd say a 5'10 and 6' WR...

And that's where the conversations on here tend to veer off course--with NFL chatter. Every time we discuss players on here, it devolves into an NFL discussion. There are tens of dozens of WRs built similarly to Pope, who have had tremendous success at the collegiate level. Likewise, there are...

    New roster weights

I'm not saying the weight measurements are off. I'm saying our guys, over the years, have packed on weight and muscle in that window between their final season and the combine. It's happened a LOT here over the years, so putting stock in a combine weight isn't all that telling when it comes to...

    New roster weights

You guys get too caught up in NFL combines. How many players have we had here completely change their bodies between the end of their final season and the combine? Again, Pope's size will be a total non-factor in what he accomplishes here at UM, which is all I care about.
  9. The Franchise

    New roster weights

I doubt Pope is really 6'1. Pope's weight will be a non-issue here.

    New roster weights

Benjamin was absolutely tiny at UM. He excelled here at around 150 pounds at one point.

    New roster weights

He's going to die on that weight hill. Like Pope can't be a successful college WR because of his weight. What a clown show this board is with that Al Folden weight ****.
  12. The Franchise

    New roster weights

I don't care about the draft. There have been a zillion college WRs who have excelled at 6 feet and 170 pounds.

Get out of the mindset that WRs need to be heavy. They need to be light and fast and get open and catch the football.

What happened to all the screeching about our OL getting emaciated and looking like fashion models after a week of ice cube dinners?

Wow. You're really turned on by his weight gain.
