Disagree with all of that. You’re couching your opinions as fact and using scout-speak to make your opinions appear more than just opinions. For instance, you say “concentration drops are a lot rarer than you think” when you have absolutely no way of proving that opinion. Don’t get too full of...

What I’m saying is elite P5 WRs don’t need to be taught how to catch a football. These guys attend camps all the time and most are coached by guys who can help them with the SUPER BASIC task of catching a football. And I absolutely believe most drops in games are mental. They’re not dropping...

I’m not ready to go with the blind “Trust Enos” mantra we see on here every time we get new coaches. I love the Enos hire, but I can assure you he’s not doing anything so outlandish that thousands of competent assistants couldn’t teach it to the WR group. I’m sure it was Enos’s call to hire...

Nonsense. Too simplistic. Tool didn’t even recruit at Alabaga. We should probably quit using Alabaga as our example every time someone makes a point about our program. By the time Coley started failing as a recruiter we were already in deep toxicity mode, and NO ONE can recruit around that...

It’s not “either or.” You can hire competent position coaches who are also dogs on the recruiting trail. Almost every position coach needs to be a plus recruiter. Otherwise, you get your *** kicked on the trail. If you’re coaching at this level with today’s tech and all the myriad clinics and...

He got fired at Utah because he was an abomination as a recruiter.

Yeah. I never said that, but whatever. Keep twisting words.

No one is reinventing the wheel at this point as a WR coach. There are thousands of guys out there who all know the same stuff from a coaching standpoint at the WR spot. What differentiates guys at this level is the ability to recruit. Enos is going to scheme it up and tell his position...

Looks like a wasted hire to me. I’m sure he knows the same basics as any other competent WR coach. But he’s a proven dud.

The product wasn’t great because the OC was the worst OC in football, and the offensive staff was toxic.

And how familiar is Rumphlefield with Enos’s current system anyway? You’d have to think we will see more of what Enos did at Alabaga than what he did at CMU. I don’t even think Rumphlefield was with him at Arkansas.

So because Dugans failed that means we need to hire an abominable recruiter who has done nothing of note in 15 years as a position coach?

My conclusion is based in fact. The guy got fired by the only good program he’s worked for for being an abominable recruiter. He’s been coaching a long time. This isn’t a young guy who’s been coaching for 3 years. He’s close to 40 and has been coaching for about 15 years. His career trajectory...

WR, RB, LB, and TE are the main spots where you put your recruiters. It’s been that way forever except in CIS Land where we search for lab coat guys like Rumph who recruits run from.

The Rumph point is actually right on the mark. Surprised you couldn’t grasp it. I never talk about bag men being hired here because it’s stupid. There aren’t really bag men on P5 staffs anyway. The bag men are behind the scenes. LOL at the idea of big-time programs hiring guys who walk around...

Confirmed. The Young Rhino strikes again. Batting average up to .800.

So you hire a WR coach at this level of football to teach guys how to catch? Guys drop balls in games mainly because of lack of concentration or they choke. That’s got nothing to do with the WR coach. Wiggins can probably catch 100 balls in a row in practice, but he choked in games.

He’s been an incredible technician in that vaunted Air Force passing game. We don’t need another position coach who wears a lab coat and has recruits run from him like he’s Frankenstein like Rumph. WR Coach is primarily a recruiting spot, and this guy is trash. Rumphlefield. No reason you...
