I would agree that athletes don’t seem to improve at Miami. I’m also on record as saying (for years) that Matt Leinart was an idiot and Mitch Trubisky was a genius. The only point I’m making in that in the rare chance that you’re a Phillips like talent, it’s worth it to look at returning. That’s...

For the record, he said it not me. It was either on a podcast or some other interview.

And Phillips adds those same qualities AND the fact that he previously quit the sport. A GM with a bone to pick will pick. (FWIW, I think Greg said he’ll run in the 4.6’s…)

It’s an excellent point; however, it does and has happened. But, you’re missing the point: the choice is different for each player depending on what position they play among other things. (Ex. Mike Harley coming back goes from definitely UDFA to probably UDFA.)

Actually, not are speculation at this point.

He could also get injured training for the draft in 2021 and lose a lot of money … what’s your point? It remains that he POTENTIALLY ****ed himself out of more guaranteed money in signing bonus than he could possibly earn — even as a first round pick. How do you not see this?

The question you have to ask yourself is do you think he could be a top-8 pick in the 2022 draft. If you believe he could, and I do, then the difference in SIGNING BONUS MONEY ALONE would be worth more than his entire 2021 contract. It’s NOT the same with Brevin, it’s different. The difference...

    Phillips 1st rnd Projection

I’m usually an advocate of kids leaving if they want to; their life, their choice. But, Phillips, even though projected as a 1st round pick, is giving up money that he’ll never get back. I think he should’ve returned but … I respect his choice.
