Realistic Hiring Targets For A P5 School: A 5 Year Look

Good call. He seems a highly organized, highly detailed coach. Young, and players relate to him. Not flashy, he turned down a school-paid new car and would rather drive his older truck (FWIW). If LSU fires Coach O and offers him, he‘s sitting in a new office in Baton Rouge. It’s been said he’s...

Realistic Hiring Targets For A P5 School: A 5 Year Look

Napier seems to be a highly detailed, highly organized coach. He's waiting for the right opportunity, and that may be an $EC job. Would definitley hope the new AD/Football GM calls and gauge Napier's interest.

Maybe after this season, given Buffalo may be a favorite to win the AFC and their QB an MVP candidate. I'd would call and ask his interest and his price, though.

There’s a difference in how arrogance is presented. One can come off ****y, thinking you’re the smartest guy in the room, condescending, and dismissive of others. Doesn’t play well with others. One can come off humble but confident, believing in yourself and what you’re doing. A leader. Which...

Realistic Hiring Targets For A P5 School: A 5 Year Look

My concern about Herman is how Texas regressed after beating UGA soundly in the Sugar Bowl. I’ve read, FWIW, he lost his locker room at the end and his arrogance alienated a lot of Texas HS school coaches. Regarding Texas, they suffered from bad hires. Fred Akers, David McWilliams, John...

Realistic Hiring Targets For A P5 School: A 5 Year Look

Unless the school financially commits to a winning program any HC hired will look at the program as a stepping stone to a better job. He would not have to win a NC, or maybe even an ACC title, just two years at 9-10 wins.

Well, wouldn’t need a new President. A new coach would absolutely require a new AD and full BOT commitment.

Pagano is retired, but confirm with @SWFLHurricane. Dorsey I like, but not because of the Miami connection. He‘s regarded as one of the best young assistants in the NFL. That he‘s a former Cane is a side benefit and maybe a lure for him to Miami. Had he attended any other school I’d like him...

I like Napier because of what you posted and because he’s worked for both Dabo and Saban. He’s been around top programs. He should have connections to build a solid staff with P5 experience. I’m leery of G5 HCs who’s bring G5 staffs.

Realistic Hiring Targets For A P5 School: A 5 Year Look

I am willing to accept a G5 ‘up-and-comer’ HC but his staff needs P5/NFL experience, especially coordinators and OL/DL. I am also cool with Herman but leery of why he didn‘t improve after a solid Year 2, beating UGA in the Sugar Bowl. I’ve also read, FWIW, he lost his locker room and his...
