    I came of age when 5150 was on the radio. My older brothers made sure I knew about early VH. Your'e very right - 2 different bands. But 1984 was a pretty much a segue into a Roth-less VH. For better or worse EVH had different plans musically. I love both versions to be honest.

    One of the best to ever strap on. Unique tone and technique, impeccable phrasing and styling, with great timing. He inspired a generation of guitar players, including me. I dont care what era... Dave or Sammy (I still ignore that Gary Cherone never happened)... EVH was a monster. Gone way too...
