Butch knew his weaknesses...So he surrounded himself with a Grade A staff....just like JJ did....Bobby Bowden did the same thing with Brad Scott/Richt and Micky Andrews....You're Nothing as a HC without a quality staff...regardless of anything else...

Ray was the Man....But Moffitt took it to another level with conditioning...Not so much just Weightlifting, but Conditioning as a whole...(Loved him)...and as much as people Dog him...there's a reason why former players come back to Work out with Swasey....

Ray Ganong was no joke as a Strength & Conditioning Coach back in the day....Best of the Best.....just because our Weightlifting room resembled a HS WL room, doesn't mean Iron wasn't getting thrown up...this is an actual Picture of UMs Weightlifting room in 1981...(That's Ganong in Orange shorts)

The weightlifting generations??...Lol....you think they weren't lifting weights in 1980?? UMs all-time Bench record was set by Tony Fitzpatrick in 1981 at 6'0 240....Keep thinking Miles couldn't run through people... Frank Gore was 5'9 190 in HS...and could run right through your *** if need be...

None.....and a Cot **** shame...but I saw him play 4 times...and 40yrs later..I still haven't forgot....I saw him take a Pitchout...cut back across the grain...and went 90yds like he was shot out of a Cannon....He was all that and more...Lomas Brown was one of his OLmen...

Freddie Miles is the Best HS RB to EVER come outta South Fl....PERIOD....Tony Smith was a Bad Boy as well...Davis Bros were Elite...but none of them were Freddie....He was the #1 Ranked HS RB in the country prior to 1980...Ranked over Bo Jackson...Hershall Walker and Marcus Dupree....Absolutely...
