Was that about NIL or following his multiple heisman trophy coaching head coach who recruited him? Because those types of transfers happened before portals and NILs

I don’t understand why people think the current NIL structure needs regulation. Jordan Addison is the only real example of a legit proven talent leaving for money. But even there, the football reasons make just as much sense as the money. We have yet to see all of this “big money” effect major...

Youre not wrong, I just dont feel like "straight up" exists anymore. Now that NCAAF is a multi-billion dollar establishment, everyone is going to do everything within their means to win. While the NIL may limit the smaller schools, its also made it so the SEC teams aren't the "only" bag option...

This assumes everyone is going to play fair, which, the SEC has proven the last 10 years, they wont. You give other teams that haven't won in ages a leg up, and then they start cheating and you get the Astros 🤝

Any rules regarding the amount a player can be paid will just trigger the same bag schools who were illegally paying players before to go back to that method so they're still offering more money than other schools.

If the only flaw is that kids will flock to schools who can afford to compensate them then nothing has changed because before they were just going to "bag schools" anyway. If anything, now MORE schools can compete financially because nothing needs to be done under the table.

I hope the NIL is unfair and flawed and Ruiz buys every single player and we go 15-0 every season without any parity or competition for at least the next 10 years. …. That’s just me though

Just trying to piece some things together. Does that little loophole about transferring back to your home state (or the surrounding) because you “miss home” still exist / can it be used to get the waiver to play the same year after today? I’m sure there are plenty of examples but for some...

Yeah, they’re the best they’ve been in a while for sure. They just haven‘t beaten us enough for us to really care. We are 4-1 VS them the last 5 years. Everyone you mentioned, plus Pickett, Addison and Whipple were there last year and we won with a worse team.

I’m pretty sure you still have to sit a year after your first “free” transfer with the portal. Also I’d rather see a college star jump around and PLAY than just sit out to preserve their draft stock if the schools situation becomes worse like what Jamar Chase did (no hate to him tho) after Joe...

I don’t really think Miami fans would feel different. Our fanbase isn’t dumb, we have known that the game was always “buying” players. We were just hesitant to join in as we know the NCAA would give us the death penalty and ignore what other schools were blatantly doing. If the NIL happened...

People blaming the portal for there being no parity after the top teams willing to spend money as if the championship game hasn’t just been SEC/Ohio State or Clemson the last 10 years. AKA the “bag schools” were already dominating anyway. It was already a game of haves and have nots, if...

Absolutely. You should be obligated to spend 1 season at the school you signed to before you can transfer portal for sure. And if you transfer before the 1 season, you should have to sit out that year. We’ll see, transferring after a couple of practices makes me think the kid will be a...

Insinuating that the sport we all love is dying because a top WR doesn’t want to play his $ year with a new OC and new QB is nuts. Forget the money, this move just makes since from a football perspective. I’d much rather be a star receiver in a Lincoln Riley offense, with a good QB, in Los...
