My favourite recruit in this class. I broke down his lax film before i ever saw him play football, and i was sold. If he stays on defense, he could be a jalean philips type player. No joke

it's a bit more than that, but i hear you. the fact is, high level girls lacrosse is not played in florida, and it's generally not played at a high level below the prep level outside the traditional eastern power centers. that being said, i can make a very strong case that UM should start both...

actually, it's not surprising .... if you think about what a lot of basketball plays would look like if there were 6 guys on each side, instead of 5, then you have a good rudimentary understanding what a "half field" offense in lacrosse looks like. also, the shuffle technique on defense is...

You are correct, BUT .... not if you are running an inverted set on your offense. Which is what it looked like to me in that one clip, which is why i identified it as such. (nice pickup though by you)

i just looked at these lax highlights. they had a kid that is 6-6 and 220 lbs playing all of zone and mtm, as well as a box-1 defense, against a crease attack and a short stick middie. that's .... pretty impressive. this kid is an all american caliber D1 defenseman. full stop.

I absolutely respect the difference of opinion. However, you are going to need to catch me on a very bad day to get me to agree with you on that one point. What formed my opinion happened years ago, having the benefit of a film session with Coach Schnellenberger on this very subject. It was...

couple of reasons that lacrosse is the best "second sport" and preferable to basketball: 1) it's a contact sport. anytime you need to put on a helmet to play, it helps with football because you not only have to hit, but keep your athletic movements when being hit. compare that to getting...

reminds me of another player who was long but lean when he entered the NFL. he also had a very leggy stride but instinctively shortened and quickened his stride in close quarters and had similar balance and body control. that guy also kn ew how to use his reach, but was raw and needed to learn...

want. see my note above about lacrosse players. he committed to play lax at notre dame. my understanding is he had/has lax offers from UVa, Penn, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Princeton .... that's a **** impressive list. he looks really good as a crease defenseman, and if he deides to stick...

as a former lacrosse player, i will tell you that the football coach that can crack the lacrosse code, has a real advantage in evaluation. everyone wants to talk about how great basketball is as the second sport for football players. that' true, but IMHO, i'd much rather see a kid play...
