You've nearly stumbled onto the truth here. Tyler Paige and Willy Escala played SS in high school. But neither is better than Zamora. So Zamora is playing SS because.......he's the best option. I know, crazy.

They are not even discussing moving Zamora from SS. Not even for a second. Notice how they never take him out when they make defensive changes.

You can only play three outfielders. So if you're going to have your best nine in the lineup somebody has to play SS. The best SS of the nine? Freddy Zamora. This isn't even a difficult call right now.
