There's a lot of reported numbers on real NFL contracts that are fake too, simply for bragging rights that will never come true. I'm not buying anything i'm hearing about NIL. You'll only ever get portions of stories or half truths, never the true detailed event.

QBs accounting for that much of an NFL cap are proven. HS recruits are not. As you stated, those kids have to be guaranteed starters to be worth it. We've seen a lot of highly ranked QBs never meet expectations.

If you force a kid into action before he’s ready and he plays incredibly poorly, you could destroy his confidence and/or have him develop bad habits while trying to learn on the fly, and end up hurting his development. Every QB is different from a mental preparedness and confidence...

There's probably a ton of clauses in them from number of tweets, appearances, etc that most times go untracked, but if someone really wanted to get out of paying, either bc the guy isn't player and/or cooperating, or leaves, i can see those fine details being the way out.

I don't get caught up in the Briles hype from a development standpoint. I don't think what he does truly prepares a QB for the NFL. Put up video game stats in college? Sure. But any playbook with so few plays and route concepts isn't going to cut it for these kids taking that next step...
