What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

That really depends on your major. In general I agree with you, but if you are getting some sort of business degree than it is worth it to go to a better school. If you get a business degree from a school like FIU or FAU you are probably going to end up working as an FA at Merril Lynch or...

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

Very accurate. From my experience the rankings(this is exclusive to finance) are Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Yale, and Stanford in the first tier. Then you have the rest of the Ivys, Duke, Vandy, ND, UVA, Northwestern, etc. Then the next tier down is where Miami would fall.

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

I knew it was a low percent, but I had no idea it was as low as 10%. That just shows how terrible these rankings are. I would much rather go to a school that looks good on a resume and is respected by future employers, than one that gets a high ranking by US news. I agree the Purdue ranking is...

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

Of course not. I have discussed this numerous time on here with other posters(I think me and you tag teamed another poster about this very subject). OSU and UGA are also pretty highly ranked, but would NEVER get picked over a Miami alumni with a similar GPA. I know for a FACT that UF(who is...

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

I have no idea what the rankings were in the 90s. I was just going off of what was said in the thread.

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

When I say Very good I usually save that for schools like Duke, ND, Virginia, and the schools right outside of the elites like the Ivys/Stanford/MIT, but yes Rutgers could easily join the ACC. I agree though they would be foolish to leave the B1G.

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

I completely agree. As much as people hate her for ******** up football. She did a lot for the academics. She got us all the way down to the mid 30s back in 2011 or 2012. I agree about the independent as well. Army and the Indiana school were able to reach close to an Ivy level of academics...

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

Very true. We have been trending back since Shalala left. We still are higher than we were pre ACC though.

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

Very true. Pre-Shalala Miami would not have any chance of joining the ACC. Being in the ACC also boosted up the school academically to were we are today.

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

Rutgers is actually a pretty good academic school. They would easily be able to join the ACC.

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

Louisville is easily the worst ACC school so the ACC would need to lower the bar even further to allow WVU in. WVU is actually pretty far behind Louisville even if you are going by the school rankings(they are something like 30 spots behind them) as opposed to what jobs look at. If 2 people with...

What if the ACC went to 16 Teams?

The ACC likes to tout itself as an academic conference. No chance they would allow a glorified community college like WVU to join the ACC. Yes, I know Lousiville and FSU are not great academic schools, but they are head and shoulders above WVU.
