N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

I have been receiving tons of down votes for stating just that. Also, in this and the Jarren williams thread I have even more porsters arguing with me about that.

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Plenty of porsters on here talking about how Perry doesn't need to gain weight and that they personally know some kids on their HS team that where skinny and didn't get injured. Then they make the leap that since those skinny kids didn't get injured being skinny is ideal for injury prevention...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Jon Richt himself said he has Perry on a bulking plan so I guess all the idiots on the forum that want Perry to graduate at 170lbs so he doesn't wear out his joints know more about this then Richt. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/college/acc/university-of-miami/article130442594.html

As far guys running cycles your collagen/bone density can only increase so fast since the steroids really arent going to be affecting it as much as the muscles. So when your muscles become 4x as strong, but the collagen/bones only increased 1.5x(these are made up ratios, but you get the point)...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Except there is scientific evidence. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3465203 I also posted studies showing that more muscle = thicker connective tissue/collagen so less tendon/ligament tears. It also increases bone mineral density so less chance of bone breaks. Plus the study above that just...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Ya bro your right on both of them. Exactly though. That is what I was trying to say. No one wants them just putting on straight fat especially not Kosi. But if they dont bulk up were going to be looking like a D3 school. Big difference between eating whatever you can find to gain weight and...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Your talking straight facts b. I was thinking the same thing. Whoever the guy was for Golden was trash. Look what happened to Chikilo the kid turned into a ****** and then he got to the league, lost weight, and did work. It happened to a lot of other players, but he was the first one on the top...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Exactly bro. Golden used to have the guys just step on a scale and if they made weight he was happy. He didn't care if it was water weight, fat, whatever. No one wants Kosi to do that. We all want him to do exactly what you said. Eat 6 meals a day with a lot of protein and complex carbs. Eat...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

That is all I am saying. I wanted the kid to start last season when he was even lighter. I am sure he is trying to build muscle. I just was arguing with the people that like to claim being stronger/more muscular does not help prevent innjury.

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Where do you get that information from? What makes you think he is less durable now then when he was skinnier? More durable does not mean invulnerable.

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Ya actually I can say what makes him more durable. Every ounce of muscle he gains will make him more durable. What are you trying to argue then? We all want him to gain muscle. I am not saying if he doesnt gain 15 pounds he can't start. I just want the guy to put on muscle then we have the...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

You do realize eating more and lifting is about as natural as you can get? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3465203

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Of course that is your only response because you are wrong. Stick to calling out porsters.

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

That is not unnatural. Eating excess calories and lifting is the way your body naturally puts on mass. Regardless, why don't you actually provide a source for these imaginary studies. If you want to be ignorant that is fine by me, but THANK GOD you are not associated with the team or we would...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

So you are a dumbass good to know. So how much fat could an already shredded kid lose to offset the muscle gain and not gain weight?

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

Are you a dumbass? You pick the most injury prone player as your example? Also, no one is saying Perry MUST gain a certain amount of weight to start. We are simply saying packing on extra muscle will make him more durable.

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

And look at the other sources that are more matter of fact. I bet you could not find a study showing an increase in weight quickly causes a higher increase in injury in athletes. Otherwise 99% of D1 players would not be bulking up as soon as they get into D1 S&C programs. You keep throwing...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

I believe we are in agreement, but just to clarify. Yes being overweight causes plenty of injuries when you are older. I absolutely agree with you on that. I am sure tons of OL, DL etc. have chronic knee/back pain later on in life among other thing. No need to go into that since we are in...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

I already showed you proof that more muscle makes your connective tissue/collage thicker which decreases your chance of a ligament/tendon injury. Here is a study that shows that progressively increasing resistance/putting on weight increases your bone density. Plus by getting bigger/stronger you...

N'Kosi Perry...Is the too small argument valid?

I agree with you regarding the not getting shook part. You have guys who take a beating and then start throwing the ball early as soon as there is pressure. Then you have guys who will hang out in the pocket and take shots all day and never get shook up. I agree that is basically pure mental...
