So....maybe......coach the kids? (And I'm not putting all the blame on the staff. At some point, kids need to make plays and just whip the kid ahead of you. But why does every other team look better coached? Miami has nothing but dumbasses and sub-par football players? No.)

I read it. I don't care about TOP, it's a useless stat. Oklahoma has the best offense in the country, they're 81st in TOP. And for VT, sure they scored a lot of points. Teams tend to do that when you give them the ball on your side of the field 3 times in a quarter. Although I will say, that...

This goes back to the chicken vs the egg discussion I've been having for weeks. Not disagreeing with you, you're correct, but if the offense could actually score some points in the situations it gives itself throughout the entire game, the defense wouldn't need these must stops. But when you...

If you look at teams with 6 games vs FBS teams.....Miami ranks #20 in redzone chances. Only 19 teams in the country have gotten in the red area more than us. Of those 20 teams, Miami is DEAD LAST in number of TDs scored. 13 TDs in 26 trips. So, the offense is moving the ball and getting...

And there's no analytical value in any of this beyond fodder for those who want to just cry themselves to sleep. Nobody is saying Miami is a good football team or does not have major problems. But with a redzone offense and kicker that had a tiny pulse, the narrative surrounding this football...

FG position to tie the UNC game? It was a 50 yarder. How many college kickers are making 50 yarders on the road at the end of games? Agree totally on Kosi vs VT, but that's my complaint. The offense has sucked when we've needed them the most (and so has the defense, truthfully). But to me...

With 32 seconds left, we needed a FG to tie and a TD to win, and had timeouts. So yes, that game should have been at least tied. With 11 seconds, you're on the 10 yard line. They had 2 plays. So yes, it's certainly an appropriate criticism. Also, if you want to get more into that one, I...

While frustrating as ****, I really don't know what you do if you're Diaz with the kicker situation. Baxa was, at worst, "OK" last year. He wasn't a complete nuclear meltdown. Very few schools carry 2 scholarship kickers. Miami is a private school, you don't have a ton of walk-ons to choose...

If if if. If Thomas doesn't drop the punt. If Mallory doesn't hold. If the refs spot the ball correctly. There's a ton of plays our opponents missed, there's a ton Miami missed as well. That's not the point. I'm just saying that at every point in those losses, no matter who missed what...

Even with ALL the other issues....

I never said they did, and teams very rarely do. There's always plays left out there during a game, on both sides. My point was with all the other plays taken out, both missed by Miami and by our opponents, you're starting 4 wins in the face with first downs deep on your opponent's side of the...

Great post. But in 2017, Rosier was "clutch". (OK, maybe lucky?). Was he better than Perry and Williams? Was Richt better than Enos? As frustrated as I am, I just cannot join the full on mob mentality around here and say this is the worst thing that's ever happened when I sat and watched...

It really has been incredible. I've said the same many times. You almost have to try to have this much **** go against you. But, it all does fall to the staff and players. We just never make anything easy on ourselves.

Exactly. I'm watching FSU/Clemson 2 weeks ago, and Clemson has a 4th and goal at the FSU 2....no panic, they line up in the gun, play off the edge defender, and flip a gorgeous little shuttle pass to Etienne when the edge defender takes himself out of the play. Gorgeous. Creative. Easy. Guy...

I struggle with that, although my thoughts on it are far too vast to type here. But bottom line, they have games right there for the taking and can't take them. Execution in those moments has to be better, and that's on everyone's shoulders.

There's no doubt about it. There are some things this team has done well. Probably more it has not....but VERY high on the list of problems has been the red zone offense. I just don't see much creativity when we get down in that area. I watch a ton of football every week, and it just seems...

Yup. Very true. The defense has far outplayed the offense overall, but they've coughed up leads/ties in the 4th quarter in every loss.
