An OC that has never called plays - bold strategy, Cotton. I'm also going to be reminded of the Mark Richt era every game now.

Well I imagine their new HC is going to be more than ****ed.

That's horrific timing by the Colts - on the eve of the biggest game of his life they've let the cat out of the bag. They couldn't hold their fire for 24 more hours?

You literally don't know who the OC is yet. Too early to say that. Also we're probably going to do something stupid like trade 3 first round picks for Stroud. Edit - or y'know, interview Thomas Brown for the OC position. Yikes.

It's telling that Wilks didn't want to take his boy with him to San Francisco.

The Panthers have requested an interview too.

Is it? What's his speciality? I've read that his position hasn't been confirmed yet - and I imagine he's not just coming in as a RB Coach.

Evidently not. They weren't interested in giving Harbaugh full control either.

Moore? Give over - Prescott is a bottom third QB that Moore has made a very rich man.

Coulda had Payton, but nooooo... Reich threw the first TD in franchise history, that's far more appealing(!)

It's come down to whether he can fluke into a franchise QB, basically. The Colts coaches and players seemed to like him, but he's not offering you a schematic advantage. It's a very, very mediocre hire. Peak Panthers.

Basically he won them over because he came with a list of staff he'd personally vetted. Everyone else he was interviewing against was busy being employed, coaching their teams in the Playoffs. Tepper has been hoodwinked again. I'd have been interested in Moore, Steichen, Kafka, Johnson and...

I don't think the coaching pool was any worse this year than others. We've just gone out there and hired a mediocre old man. I'm genuinely crushed today - all my excitement for the Panthers offseason has gone.

What's there to be a fan of? This was Tepper's chance to kick-start the franchise with a young, dynamic OC - y'know, keep up with the Jones' like all the freakin' teams in the Playoffs. Instead he hires a 61 year old, milquetoast HC who was a first time HC only 5 years ago. Huzzah(!)

So it looks like the Panthers have eliminated (or been eliminated by) all the exciting prospects and we're left with two failures and Kellen Moore. Delightful.
