Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

And you gave examples which aren’t comparable at all to college football. Startups and top 5 actors don’t apply to sports. I didn’t ask that question either. Do you expect Tens of thousands of 18 year olds to collectively bargain 7-10 year contracts when they are only in school for 4? like I...

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

Those are all very specific situations where one person or a few people might share in revenue, if they are good enough And can demand that type of contract. Most people in those professions do not get a pc of the revenue. Entrepreneurs only do it that way because they are starting at the...

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

If the player and school aren’t in a partnership then what does the school owe the player? I’d say they are in a partnership though because the scholarship has stipulations attached to it And by accepting the scholarship, they are accepting the stipulations too

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

You think no one has screamed exploitation and financial abuse before? Nw tried to form a union and it went to court. And apologizing for using the wrong word or wearing the wrong t shirt in these political times is a little different than uprooting and changing an entire system, or figuring...

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

Most players will not make more through their nil compared to what they get for a scholarship. Maybe the top 10% would benefit

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

Except these players took the deal, aka the scholarship, knowing full well what their compensation package would Look like. Plus the NCAA/ college provides the enormous platform for these kids to make their name. It’s kind of like Zion Williamson, if he had went overseas to play instead of...

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

On what grounds? They literally threatened To sit out if their demands weren’t met, and the coach made the choice for them. They got the result they threatened if the school or conference didn't go for their Ultimatum...and they are still on scholarship.

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

Yes apparently, those players at those online only schools could choose to stay home, take online classes and pay for books and tuition just like other students, then look for a 9-5er upon graduation. also, is it NOt easier to plan to keep 100 people isolated than the entire 30k student body...

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

Because if football players get paid, all other athletes, including women athletes, would need to be paid equitably according to title ix

They don’t have to sign them. If they want, they can sit. Do u think that it makes a sliver of sense to have a school assume responsibility and liability for the health of hundreds of athletes during a global pandemic?

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

You think enrollment would go way down at a school with a 16% acceptance rate? You obviously dont realize that most students don’t give a crap about the sports teams. These kids have no leverage if it is only one conference and a handful of players. Almost everyone would have to sit out for...

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

Ita obvious that the facilities are for current athletes, just like most students don’t go back to use the schools library After they graduate. They don’t just benefit the school, the players benefit too while they are there. The point is a lot of money is being put back into the program. And...

Yeah the players have more to lose by sitting out, assuming one team isnt adversely affected with too many opt outs. The real question is how will these pac 12 guys spend their $700 Check if they get it?

Pac 12 Players Asking for 50% of revenue to play this year

The NCAA may back them but the schools are the ones that decide who gets them, not the NCAA. it’s more like the NCAA gives money to the schools to spend, with few strings attached. The schools give them, take them away, etc...
