Other than lack of play-calling (which yes is a factor that shouldn’t be understated), what are the other reasons for this being a catastrophe?

Fair points - it’s not a slam dunk hire but I’m warming up to it, mainly because of Hurtt’s recruiting prowess (I know that’s just one aspect of it)

High level pros and cons Pros: Elite recruiter when he was in college; worked under a defensive guru (Carroll); highly thought of in the NFL Cons: Lack of play-calling experience; hasn’t had to recruit in years
