The statement can be both true (that, of course, having lots of 3 and outs hurts a defense) and simultaneously not the primary reason we were 7-5. Our defense couldn’t tackle, couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down, and couldn’t get important stops on critical opponent drives. Plain and simple.
