Thought he was fine. He did give up the fake screen and go to the RB. Diagnosed another screen and hit it hard, which is my guess for why they ran the screen and go since Brooks attacked it so hard. I should’ve written about that in my review. The LB’s each have different strengths and...

And keep in mind if it was touched by the defense, even if he did fumble the ball it goes back to where the defense first touched it. It’s a no-lose play if it was touched and my guess is the coach who yelled at him just had it wrong.

They weren’t challenged in this game much. I highlighted Ivey in a negative way. Dumson missed a tackle, but was fine in coverage. Clark was fine in limited snaps in coverage. As for the older players, coaches are stubborn. They retreat to players who have been in system, work hard, do the...

One of the biggest things I’d tell players is everyone thinks they work hard. Not one player thinks they’re the lazy one. Or thinks that someone else is out working them. They probably are in great shape for a regular student. What most players in my time failed to see was that the...

Nah, I was just trying to praise the two young guys.

Depends on the player, but I’d start James Williams over Gurvan Hall. Arroyo over Mallory. Austin-Cave over Jennings or Flagg. Chantz Williams over McCloud. I think you can reduce the snaps of players and see how the younger guys respond.

Miami returned to the home field after the Michigan State game and played an easier opponent in Central Connecticut State. It gave the team a chance to play some younger players, find out more about the QB battle, and reset for the conference slate upcoming. How did it look on film? Find out...
