Yeah, Embid was at Montverde and did nothing there. Went over to the Rock and blew up. I think he went from not being or barely in the top 100 nationally to a top 5 prospect during his senior year in Gainesville. The Rock also produced the Wilbekin brothers. They always keep a stockpile of D1 kids.

The Rock is very up and down. Not as good as IMG and Montverde but they’ve had their fair share of studs. Remember that’s where Joel Embid became a McD’s all-American

Spot on here. As good as the northeast and dmv areas are producing basketball prospects it's not nearly as good as it was say 10-15 years ago or prior. States like California, Texas and to an extent the southeast United States produce the same quality and quantity player you can get from the...

    2021 Recruiting

This is part of a post I put together a few weeks ago on another thread that I'd like to share with you incase you missed it. I'm only incuding the last 4 signing classes. Unfortunately, you could probably count on one hand which kids were offered by Miami coming out of HS. Each and everyone of...

His uncle has been coaching in the college ranks for almost 10 years. Matter of fact, if I'm not mistaken he got his start at FIU. From what I understand Cardet didn't make his mind up until the last few weeks. It came down to Illinois, Alabama and Samford. Miami dropped out a while ago...

It might be lame, but it's the truth.

    2021 Recruiting

Some of the P5 schools who offered Wes Cardet, including Miami backed down over the last few months. Seems they all had the inkling that Cardet was going to join his uncle, who's currently an assistant coach at Samford.

Don't count out Kentucky. They're not calling him Herro 2.0 for nothing. Keep in mind, Brandon played for Team Herro last summer, as in Tyler Herro's travel basketball team. The same Tyler Herro who played for Coach Cal at Kentucky. 🤷‍♂️

    2021 Recruiting

Yes, I too think it will have an adverse effect on 2022 class as well. Maybe not as impactful as the one 2021 is seeing, but effective nonetheless. This isn't the year to wait for a bigger program to come offering. Gotta get what you can, while you can. Like Too Short used to say, "Get in...

    2021 Recruiting

Something I'd like to mention about the 2021 recruiting. If you know of any kids with options right now who are still thinking about which school to sign with, please tell them to make a decision soon as they can. College coaches have turned a lot of their attention towards the transfer portal...

Orlando Antigua will be a college HC again. Word is that it may happen right after the tournament.

If this kid or any other kid for that matter picks UM over Illinois or Kentucky, then they should have their heads examined. No way in **** any sane person is committing to Coach L right now, with the current dumpster fire in Coral Gables. IF Coach L keeps his job they're going to need to focus...

    2021 Recruiting

Recruiting dead period was extended thru May 31st. I hope the staff doesn't use this as a crutch for not getting a big man in this class.

    2021 Recruiting

If we're adding any players to this year's class, it seems it's going to come thru transfer and/or juco route. I heard they're done with the HS players in 2021 class.

Only if Miami would've offered Big C (Colin Castleton). Went to Michigan, got homesick transferred to uf and is doing his thing there. You'd think a Florida kid standing 6'11" would draw some interest from our coaching staff, but noooooooo... LOL!!!

Embid is a decent outside shooting big man. Definitely not one of his strengths. Problem with bigs like him is he slows the game down for Philly's offense. Philly, like the rest of the NBA is trying to put up as many shots as they can, to score as much as possible. They want to get up and down...

    2021 Recruiting

That's a fair comparison, but I will say that Wiseman coming into the league is much more skilled than what Howard was when he came into the league back in 04. Point I was making is (read the last 2 sentences in the post you referenced) that slow centers, who struggle to get up and down the...

    2021 Recruiting

Not 100% sure what you mean, but you're mistaken if you're insinuating that Wiseman is the same as Whiteside and Embid. Wiseman is much more mobile and athletic than those two and fits today's style of play. Wiseman is not just a back to the basket player. In fact, instead of a post-up game, he...

    2021 Recruiting

On a side note, how does a coach in just his 2nd year of coaching college basketball come down to Florida and pluck the top 2 players in the state? Who also happen to be big men. Juwan Howard, after 1 year at Michigan is able to come down to Florida and get Caleb Houston and Moussa Diabate and I...

    2021 Recruiting

In today's game, there are 3 things big men have to be able to do in order to have success -- rebound, block shots, and run the floor. Coming out of HS, Dewan did that as well as anyone in his class. You say he was overrated, I say he was misused and underachieved. This isn't 80's basketball...
