He's fine. I don't think he was the homerun I thought he would be but no complaints. We did well recruiting DE and the players produced on the field. Wayne, Bain, and Acheampong really mentioned Mario more than Wright in their recruitment so idk. Hard to tell where Mario's involvement outweighed...

If I'm ranking problems on our staff from coaching ability to recruiting ability for each guy left.. Field's recruiting is very close to the bottom of the list to address. TE is so loaded it can wait until next year unless the TE coaching spot is needed for OC for whatever reason.

Strong 1000% should not have been the playcaller or even considered for it here. Good call by Mario. Yes, you do lose touch and times have changed over the 15 years since he's called plays. Yes, he understands the game has changed and has been coaching. However, tendencies and trends in...

I've already tried to tell him it was Field that was responsible. That was the relationship. He just wasn't coming here to play for a Mickey Mouse program ran by Manny Diaz. Mario coming and promising and showing it was going to be 1st class and legit put us over Alabama. That's all that...

My comment was mostly because it felt like we weren't landing a RB for the longest time and the position played like ****. Wasn't exactly his fault there as he inherited it. He definitely earned his keep pulling the 2 that he got and how ever much we can attribute to him landing Citizen. I...

Crazy how I've been on here since 2011.. 2011 until I started using this account in 2014 I was just a lurker... every single time there was an opening on the defensive staff we talked about Charlie Strong, TRob, Rumph, and Kuligowski (among others) Now we've had all 4 of them in relatively...

I nearly said I would take coley as a RB coach. I can’t gauge Kevin smith very well.

Without a doubt. But there's only so much DVD can do as an off-field recruiter. Field has to initiate a lot of it and he does a good job. He's better suited off-field.

Field and Skinner stayed close until Mario came and was able to close the deal. Field kept it warm enough to pull it off. Riley Williams I have no idea. I'd also give Field a ton of credit for Kinchens, Bissainthe, Malik Bryant, and then guys like Brinson, Brashard, George, etc he played a roll...

Bryant and Washington had nothing to do with Strong.. all Mario. Popo's dad knew Mirabal. Didn't really have anything to do with him either. Pulliam I have no idea how that came on. I think Zo actually identified him in the Spring and then they pulled the trigger late without really staying in...

Getting let go from UMass, arguably the worst FBS job there is, probably isn't doing him any favors. He may have gave it up. The more I research him beyond the connection to Strong and Guidry the more I lean to avoid it.. red flag being out of coaching, doesn't seem like a great recruiter anyway.

Yep he was Strong's guy that he brought up through UL and with him to USF. The Guidry connection is only McNeese... kinda why I expected Strong to stick around.

Currently out of coaching and brokering real-estate though. May not happen.. but the connection to Abdul-Rahim is there to possibly circle back that direction and replace Addae.

Watch for Tommy Restivo to coach LB. He was DC at UMass for 2 years and was Guidry's DC for 1 year at McNeese. Also, was co-DC at UMass with Aazaar Abdul-Rahim... if they want to replace Addae and add some familiarity to the staff.
