The story is that we "discovered" him in summer ball in Minnesota. One would logically conclude that the D1 programs in Florida could "discover" a JUCO All-American within the state before he heads off to Minnesota. Doesn't seem like a stretch.

If the story you told was accurate, then it is an indictment on our recruiting. So we’re back to square one.

Not whining, just being honest. If we truly didn't know about him until summer ball, that is an indictment on the staff.

Tommy Giles played at Vero Beach HS and Central Florida Community College. He was a second team All American at CFCC. If we didn't know about him until he played for the St. Cloud (Minnesota) River Bats, then everything we've said about our recruiting is spot on.

You believe that's a wooden bat league? That's cool, because all summer collegiate leagues are wooden bat leagues. The Corn Belt Summer Collegiate Baseball League is a wooden bat league. The Western Major Baseball League is a wooden bat league. The Northwoods League is a second-tier operation...

Well, I would hope we wouldn't be striking out in that league. That roster is a freaking embarrassment. UW Stevens Point, Illinois State, Palm Beach Atlantic, Walsh University........good lord.
