It was more on the offensive side, but in a nutshell, you could have 3 three and outs with a 1 yard gain each play and then a 90 yard run. You'd have 10 plays, 90 yards for a 9 yd/play average. But you'd still only have a 10% success rate, which is really bad. the averages for intraconference...

It's funny, I'm actually doing a school project arguing the exact opposite because of the ability of one bad play skewing the average.
