Not at all. The majority of school aged children likely are asymptomatic and unlikely to spread. As they get older and into their twenties, they're more likely to have symptoms, but milder that older adults. That's why when we had our huge spike in July it was mostly young adults. An update...

True, and minor symptoms are something kids generally tend to ignore or not even notice, especially if it gets in the way of having fun.

Proof that they're asymptomatic. As in completely free of all symptoms. A person who has a symptom so minor that it doesn't prevent them from going to a party is not asymptomatic. A little sniffle, chill, slight loss of smell is barely noticeable, but is still a symptom.

How is that not the case? There is no evidence from any of these situations to make a claim either way. The CDC says it's rare, but that doesn't mean it never happens. What I'm saying is that often somebody has minor symptoms. That's not the same as asymptomatic.

When they bother to do any actual reporting, you find that often someone has chills or some other symptom that doesn't leave them bedridden. They don't feel bad enough to avoid a party, so then you have an outbreak.

That would be why I said it's not peer reviewed. The point is that early indicators are positive. I don't treat evidence as gospel. It points in a direction. The direction all of the evidence points is a positive one.

It's more than hopium when the preliminary data points in the right direction. Did you say the same when we were shutting down with only a few hundred cases?

Think about it. How can anyone know that there's any long term immunity when the virus hasn't existed for a long term? Everything in that article is good news. Not just for college football, but for everybody.

The link I provided reports on a study brand new study from the University of Washington that has yet to be peer reviewed that shows that T cells provide protection long after antibodies fade. That indicates that a vaccine will be effective and that we're a lot closer to herd immunity than...

I too will not leave my house until I have a peer reviewed study showing long term antibody and/or T cell protection for a virus that's not even a year old.

Well then, let's all just panic and cancel everything and hide under our sheets like frightened children until nobody ever gets sick again. Or you can take the word of the actual scientists quoted in the article and be optimistic. I'll never understand the mindset that actually disputes good...

Not to mention letting the press run with that story for days. If someone takes an action I don't agree with and says I voted for it, you'd better believe I'm calling bull**** as soon as I hear it. Appearances be damned.

Some time back, didn't the NCAA say it was 4 weeks minimum of practice in order to play? I seem to remember that's how we got to the beginning of August.

If I'm a Big 10 or PAC 12 player and they stick with this, I'm opting out for the season. If I can't play, you can't make me go to meetings, workouts, etc.
