    Why is it necessary for him to be starting a cast off QB who's a RB after 5 years at the program? Do that here and he'll get destroyed as a guy who's never recruited or developed a quality QB in his entire career.

    His numbers were. And if you watched them play, a guy lighting up the NFL wasn’t featured, he was used as a game manager. In comparison, van Dyke doesn’t have Alabama weapons either and has 19 touchdowns in five starts.

    He’s also lost to Cal, Washington St and Stanford the last two years and consistently been in late 4th quarter dogfights against some really bad teams.

    For those bringing up Oregon's current ranking, similarities between this team and Miami's 2017 season under Richt are pretty evident. Lots of charmed wins by a TD or less to inferior teams, a big win against a highly ranked opponent and a bad loss to a medicre team.
