Agreed. Coach L has struggled mightily to assemble a decent frontcourt For about 80% of the seasons he’s been head coach. This season looks to continue that trend.

Not sure it has any influence. From what I've read, Joseph's issues relate to academics.

He injured his MCL but that was 7 months ago. Not a good sign if it's still nagging. We desperately need another big man (or 2).
  4. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

That's true. However, we would get eviscerated on the glass with Walker playing at the 5, particularly against a team with size.
  5. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

I sure hope so. Walker had his moments last season and I like his potential but we'd be doing him and the team a disservice by playing him at the 5.

L also mentioned going positionless and playing Walker some at the 5. That tells you all you need to know about the state of our frontcourt.

Similar to what I had posted except Poplar is a 2 guard and I think J Miller projects more as a 3 than a 2.
  8. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

True, but even so, 9 upperclassmen is an extremely old roster.

Probably better than trotting Sam and Rodney Miller out there. None of the bigs we currently have are skilled players.
  10. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

That may be one of the in-game lineups we play but I doubt that's the starting lineup. That would be a puny starting 5.

Whenever I see Duren mentioned he's talked about like he would play this season. Until he officially reclassifies, I won't assume as such.
  13. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

He was a 5th year senior last year. How much development can we really expect from his 5th to 6th year?
  14. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

Agreed. Anyone who is expecting any of our 5th/6th year seniors to have a sudden significant improvement in their play is setting themselves up for disappointment.

Here's how the roster looks as of today: Confirmed: PG - Moore/Beverly SG - Kam/Poplar SF - J Miller/Robinson PF - Walker/Sam C - R Miller/Gak Pending: PG - Joseph SG - Wong Regardless of what Wong decides and what happens with Joseph, I foresee us playing a lot of small ball lineups. Coach...
  16. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

Agreed. They should be back on the team. If they do both come back, we should have a pretty loaded backcourt with Kam, Wong, and Moore as shoe-in starters and Beverly, Robinson, J Miller, and Poplar off the bench. I am not counting Joseph because at this point I think it's safe to assume he...
  17. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

The only way I don't see them coming back is if they decide to transfer or go to the G League.
  18. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

Not surprising. Let's pray he decides to come back. Can't imagine how horrible next year's team would be without him. We'd have zero offense.
  19. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

Maybe so, but there's also a reason Stan is still under Hamilton. Some guys are just meant to be lifetime assistant coaches.
  20. Gables Canes

    Returning Players

His other option is he could decide to go to the G League or play overseas somewhere.
