OT: Huge win for college sports athletes from Supreme Court

Phil Knight is 83 years old, is no longer the CEO and Nike shareholders would have a problem with that. But that is also exactly one school. Again, they have been doing this for years in basketball but never football because 1) it does not make business sense from the size of the roster and 2)...

OT: Huge win for college sports athletes from Supreme Court

Adidas and Nike have been doing that under the table with basketball for years now, so agreed. But that's not really as much of a thing with football. How many NFL players have shoe deals? They aren't going to be giving half a college football roster 5 or 6 figure shoe deals. And we have...

I think Blake James goes beyond a dolt. However, why does everyone think these companies are lining up to get endorsements from college players? How many professional athletes in South Florida have sponsorship deals beyond maybe sneaker loyalty deals for NBA players? Not too many.

OT: Huge win for college sports athletes from Supreme Court

Everyone keeps talking about things like this and the NIL being good for us. All it is doing is laying the legal groundwork for boosters at big schools and now the schools themselves to push payments and benefits above the table. You already have schools like Michigan taking their whole...

Some schools may want to. Plus, some of the expenses are funny money anyways. Like tuition for graduate school. It's nonsense. There are no unit costs to another person in an MBA program. You aren't hiring more professors for that one person or buying more desks for them.

OT: Huge win for college sports athletes from Supreme Court

Don't think that's right. The decision is the NCAA can't ban those types of payments or benefits, not that the schools have to do any of that. You will be at a competitive disadvantage if you don't, but from what I have seen schools are not compelled to. Now, if every school does not change...

OT: Huge win for college sports athletes from Supreme Court

It was a truly absurd hill for the NCAA to die on. Had nothing to do with the NIL legislation or paying players and was entirely about schools paying for graduate school, computers, and other similar things. I did notice internships was included, so anticipate Nick Saban Automotive Group...

OT: Huge win for college sports athletes from Supreme Court

Well, we learned what can unite Americans in 2021. A hatred of the NCAA.
