If you include data analytics and player personnel groups, it easily could at alabama. They certainly have a significant investment in data architecture and systems. Also, every time Saban goes wheels up on private travel, it’s 10+G gone.

Depends on what you count. There‘s direct amd indirect, hostong officials, unofficials, coach travel, camps, database licenses, recruiting staff, travel IT systems, private air travel, helicopters. The total cost of that sdds up.

Depends on who 'we' is. I try to take in information, because it helps me follow recruiting. The staff should certainly not care what sites think, and I'm sure they don't, though I'm also sure they pay attention to all the info. I'm not here to tell people what info to track. The issue with...

That makes no sense. You think it's all random and there's nothing to look for to impact evaluations? Then why even post on a recruiting site? Nothing is 100% random. Some coaches are better than others at evaluations. That assistants change isn't a flaw in this observation -- if anything...

Starts are the tail, not the dog. When Manny becomes known for evals and UM becomes proven at recruiting, sites will boost kids we focus on. None of which should matter at all in terms of who we focus on. That's got to come from the staff's evals.

I disagree with this. Those .teams aren't 'star slurpers' at all. They're good evaluators and attract talent. The stars follow them, not the other way around. Coker was a 'star slurper', in that he recruited off lists.

No program gets it right 100% of the time. But you have to avoid being bad at it consistently. When you are missing over and over, you have to pick apart what you're doing to see if you're missing something. That's the point. Butch knew what to look for in kids. JJ did. Carroll did...

When you're as consistently bad as we've been, it's not bad luck. We're doing it wrong. You're correct. I think you misunderstand the issue. A lot of folks have posted stuff like you just did over the years. Uncertainty in any instances is a totally separate topic from consistently bad...

I loved the Pope commitment. That's one of the reasons I started this thread. Because I asked what we got wrong and why. Pope was very fast and quick, a real track kid, explosive. Looked good in camps / 7-7. Worked hard it seemed. I don't recall a lot of discussion about hands...

This is the logic flaw in our recruiting, IMO. Clemson didn't get where they are by just swinging for the fences. And not every kid has to be 'twitchy' anyhow. We need to find kids who can play and won't bust, improve our roster, and keep upping our talent level over time. This type of kid...

I’m struggling to identify what there isn’t to like about this kid from his tape, measurables and other info. Maybe he doesn’t have that separation burst of jeudy or coley, or the long speed of cooper, but he’s a 4.5 40, 4.0 shuttle and sub-11 100M kid. He’s fast.
