    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

The law of unintended consequences is undefeated. But that makes you wonder whether it's a double blind bluff and the real intentions are different from the stated intentions.

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

This makes no sense. Division III schools play FB. Most FBS programs have no chance of being competitive. Football is part of the fabric of these schools and communities. It is important to their alumni, who give. Nothing about Alabama winning more matters to Vanderbilt. Only fans of a few...

    Exactly what I've been saying.

Sure don’t sound like a voluntary association at that point.

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

Because there are thousands and thousands of boosters at big programs, many who own businesses which employ plenty more. You guys fantasize about ‘endorsement deals,’ but I haven’t seen any theories under which that reliably helps UM. Who do you think would get the big endorsement deals in...

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

One thing this would do, almost inevitably, is cause schools to take branding and differentiation seriously. If there’s a silver lining for UM in it, it would be in it’s natural position as the bad guy for branding purposes. It’s easy money. But I’d wager a good amount that UM Admin wouldn’t...

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

Exactly. A few. And you generally won’t know which in HS. And the value of a kid is going to be a function of the team’s success, too, because ain’t no endorsers gone care so much about kids on bad teams that don’t play in the big games. So back to the topic. Wjy do you think this...

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

LOL. You imagine that endorsers are going to be throwing around bags of money to hundreds or thousands of kids? LOL

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

I'm with you. What this does is make the booster graft into something legit. It might make it easier for some kids to take the bag, frankly, becaues now it's legal.

    HA! Eat that NCAA!!

I don't understand why this type of law doesn't end up benefitting the schools with the biggest budgets and bag games. It's now easy for boosters to buy $100 t shirts. Miami ain't winning that game. I happen to think the NCAA rules are a joke and support changing them. I just don't see how...
