I disagree with this comment, at least in what it really means. They may not 'want' mediocrity, in the sense that they'd be happy with wins. But they are unwilling to do any of the things required to win, unwilling to critically assess what is required, and willing to tolerate failure. So...

The problem is they'd never let someone come in to UM who could improve the show. They want mediocrity. And no one good would come in under these circumstances. Ed Reed is a figurehead. UM needs a new President and new BOT and new AD before it will have a shot at a legit football program.
