    Bowl games are nothing more than start of next season's practice/scrimmage cycle.

    In short No, but viscerally yes. All bowl games outside CFBPO are nothing more than early Spring scrimmages. With that said, no one wants to see their team lose, or even worse, get blown out because it reinforces the "they aren't very good" notion.
