    The world is a ****ed up place, so here's a video about an overweight rescue dog losing 50 lbs. I'm not one of those pretentious rescue/shelter owners, but I love falling down youtube wormholes of The Dodo videos.

    That video I posted has a section on the 2 different lines of Malinois. The show breed is much more calm and suitable to be a pet if you are an experienced dog owner. The service line that the military and LEO use is not an option, especially if kids are in the home.

    Breaking news: Got results back from a DNA test and it turns out he ain't a German Shepherd mix, but Belgian Malinois instead. Didn't even know that was a thing. From what little I've read about them it makes alot of sense given his personality, physique, and coat.

    Beautiful dog. I came close to getting a Husky before settling on mine 18 months ago. Ended up not getting one because the fence in my back yard isn't tall enough. I had read they tend to be escape artists.

    Thanks, I appreciate the advice. This is first dog I had this young that required any basic training and it is admittedly much harder than anticipated.

    4 months He's fine in public if he's leashed. At home if friends come over he jumps on people and is mostly playful, with tons of energy. He's still very much a puppy.     It's pretty hard to get him to socialize during Covid. I was taking him to a dog park, leashed, before that to get him acquainted with other people and dogs. In public he still jumps on anyone if they don't immediately pet him. At home he gets insanely protective of me whenever anyone comes over.

    My boy Link. He's a 2 year old German Shepherd/Yellow Lab mix. Rescue from a puppy mill in Mississippi and still has serious trust issues with strangers.
