https://247sports.com/college/miami/Article/Hurricanes-set-for-first-practice-ahead-of-trip-to-Italy-133840171/ Update: Per this article, it does not mention an application for a waiver. Sit one play one makes no sense to me sense kids are getting waivers for coaching changes. It seems like...

LOL. Ridiculed. Ridiculed for what? Making people think. Thinking outside the box. Not accepting failure as an option. That is what I did. My post highlighted three events that would have to occur to make people think. Russell Westbrook gets traded (which has happened), Billy Donovan...

For the record, I am not making any excuses. I am on record (multiple times) that Miami should sign two more grad transfers for this season and use the 5 available scholarships on the 2020 recruiting class. It gives Coach L 5 seniors and 4 juniors on the roster and he does his best coaching...

That would be bad because technically, Miami only has 8 active, healthy guys for the four exhibition games in August and the start of the regular season. Brooks needs to be a waiver to play this season and Gak (December) and Stone (January) are recovering from ACL tears. Who knows when they...

I would still prefer two grad transfers but with the coaching change, he may get a waiver to play immediately. Also, if he is like Sam, a stretch 4 who does not rebound then that could be a problem.

Florida is still active in the transfer portal. They are using all of their scholarships. They already have one sit out transfer and they are looking to add another. Miami would be better served with two grad transfers.

I am glad you said that. I feel the same way. I read on another thread that Coach L should "take lumps this season" and work toward winning next season. I am completely against that out dated philosophy. You can take lumps and win in the same year. The new expectation for Miami basketball...

I hope Miami has applied for a waiver for Brooks and we have not heard about it. Winning and making the NCAA tournament is the priority this season.

You bring up a good point. The ball screen offense does not have to rely on the 3 point shot. When he guard comes off the "ballscreen", his goal should be to create a scoring opportunity in the lane (layup for himself, free throw line jumpshot for himself, layup for the big rolling to the...

Miami tried but they did not make the cut. In a way, I am happy. They need to sign 2 grad transfers. I still have transfer sit out kick out phobia.

I personally think a grad transfer is better because Miami needs depth this season and the coaches can use the scholarship for the 2020 recruiting class. Shakur Juiston and DJ Williams would be good grad transfer fits. Stone and Juiston would take minutes away from Wardenburg but competition...

I agree with most of your points. Here are my responses and suggestions. 1. Recruit more in-state kids as travel in-state is cheaper than travel to the Northeast and Texas. 2-5. Build relationships with in-state travel teams (NightRydas Elite, Team Breakdown, E1T1, Game Elite to name a few...
