    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

I’m still yet to see why UM would grossly exaggerate a freshman tackle’s weight. A senior Quarterback trying to get drafted? Yeah I can see exaggerating his height but what good does it do to say your freshman tackle is way bigger than he actually is. Besides, you can tell how big he is just by...

This guy looks like a legit P5 DT to me.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

Yeah but there’s a reason they overstated the QB’s height. I don’t see why they would overstate one DTs weight but not another. I mean, it’s possible I don’t see why they would.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

Not sure what you’re saying. I was saying that the UM page has JHH 20lbs lighter than Taylor so even if they are exaggerating their weights, there’s still a fairly large gap between them.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

UM says 285 but he weighed 302 at the combine so he was likely somewhere between the two I assume.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

I generally agree but there are certain positions that require a certain amount of size for the player to succeed. Interior linemen, no matter how quick or athletic, will be a hinderance if they're playing too light. The list of quality 270 lb defensive tackles in the modern era of football is...

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

It's incredibly rare for freshmen defensive tackles to play a ton right off the bat.

44th in rush defense and yards per rush but your point remains.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

UM has Harrison-Hunte listed 20 lbs light than Taylor though. So even if they’re exaggerating, there’s still a big weight difference between the two.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

Look at Taylor’s arms and legs compared to JHH. He doesn't have the fat belly that some DTs have but he’s got thick limbs. JHH looks like a basketball player.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

UM has him listed at 6’3” 305. Even if they exaggerated a little bit, he’s still 295 minimum.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

Leonard Taylor played around 300 as a true freshman last year and was incredibly effective. 21 tackles, 8.5 tfl and 2 sacks in 6 games. He’s ready to be an all conference caliber player already.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

RJ and Gerald Willis both played in the 280-285 range but they were significantly more athletic than Harrison-Hunte. These days if you're going to be a <300lb DT, you better be Aaron Donald.

    Jared Harrison-Hunte says he's gained 20 pounds

Good because with Silvera in Arizona and Jon Ford graduated, We're way too light at defensive tackle and we already got pushed around too much.
