Anyone worried about the middle of the Dline this year?

This is exactly why Rousseau gets moved inside on passing downs. I know the FSU quarterbacks got tired of seeing #15 in their face as soon as they dropped back.

Anyone worried about the middle of the Dline this year?

For sure. He’s a special talent though. Rushing on the edge and rushing up the middle are two totally different skills and very few guys can do both.

I still prefer starting the game with a base of GR, Ford, Nesta, Roche/Phillips. Roche is essentially a 3-4 OLB and the combo of him at DE and GR at DT makes the whole unit a bit light against rushing teams. Still, if we're actually able to play with leads in 2020, I wouldn't mind seeing a lot...

So if we switch the letters next to Rousseau‘s name from DE to DT, it will be a smart decision? Inside pass rush is far more valuable than edge rush because the quarterback can’t step up in the pocket to avoid it. There’s a limited number of guys who can get pressure from the DT position so it...

Are the Rams stupid for playing Aaron Donald inside on passing downs? By moving Rousseau inside on passing downs, it allows them to play another pass rushing end outside. It’s about getting your best pass rushers on the field together. There’s ton of video evidence that GR is a fantastic inside...

I’m not averse to playing him inside although his run stopping ability inside is still a question mark

Anyone worried about the middle of the Dline this year?

Two things to notice in this highlight vid. 1) Look how many times GR made plays from the DT/NT position. He's arguably better inside than outside. 2) There isn't a ton of blitzing going on here. Most of these plays are using a four man rush. Occasionally you'll see a linebacker coming late...

Anyone worried about the middle of the Dline this year?

When you have to dig back two years to find an opponent who really killed us in the running game, you're really searching. A majority of the defensive players that started against Wisconsin aren't even on the team anymore.

Anyone worried about the middle of the Dline this year?

Not really. Most college teams still run the ball more than they throw it. They just run from spread formations now. Being able to run the ball and stop the run is still a huge key for success.

    Still not concerned.

I formation fullback in the flats, bro. Works every time.

We are very solid at DT. I don't think there's a true superstar but there's good talent in the rotation. Not to mention, Baker likes to move bigger ends inside on passing downs.
