The Diaz/Baker haters should be glued this weekend

People had the same complaints about Diaz as a DC, and this thread is about Diaz/Baker haters, meaning "people who don't like what we're doing on D." I'm thoroughly unsold on Baker, don't get me wrong. But if nothing else, the stats (combined with the ineptitude from the O and ST) at least...

    That's basically our scheme anyway.

Critiquing is not hating. But criticism is a deliberate act of indicating points for improvement and realistic paths to success that do not directly contribute to a deterioration of successful points. I have yet to hear much of that on CIS. All I hear is the D is awful because we weren't...

We won by 25 points last year. Did they get one of the best transfers and best DC's in America over the offseason?

Why aren't we consistently top 10? FIRE EVERYONE!!!

It might also burn if Louisville wins. Because for some reason people in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania love burning their cities down.

Why would we do that instead of showing our entire offense in the first game of the season?? Seriously, we saw just a taste of what the O can/will do, especially when Jordan got involved on the TD drive. And the actual playcalling is only a part of the issue -- how is Louisville going to...

These are the people who don't understand this D. It's boom or bust. Typically, we either get a TFL or short gain, or put adequate pressure on the QB to force an incomplete. At times, this allows for a big play. Given bias to the negative, everyone focuses on the big plays allowed but not...

The Diaz/Baker haters should be glued this weekend

I, for one, am planning a meltdown of seven-year-old-girl-got-the-wrong-present-at-her-birthday-party proportions if we don't win by at least seven touchdowns, hold them to zero, and there isn't a special guest appearance by a reincarnated Macho Man Randy Savage.

Actually, I know very well what they say about stats (in addition to the flaws, and how to apply them correctly), being a financial analyst. And I would quickly counter that... (hold your breath!) there are THREE elements to a football game, and they all impact each other. Offense sucked...

The fact the defense has been statistically good to very good. That's basically the definition of "hater."

I'll agree with the matter of the LB's to an extent. Continuity on D in the scheme was important. But let's not act like Shaq and Pinck were some phenomenal backers. The safety play should be much better this year. Starting DT's return. Tandem of Phillips/Roche is probably more talented...

The Diaz/Baker haters should be glued this weekend

I am very, very confused as to how people think this game is that much different than last year, except we had Jarren Williams and not D'Eriq King at QB. If it's a boat race, I don't see much cause for concern.
