Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

People are really discounting in this thread just how bad Brady's offenses were at Carolina. He had like top 5 worst offenses in the league and we're clamoring for him like he's automatic and we can't even question his credentials. It's crazy...

I don’t believe that’s true. I’m pretty sure Esminger called all the plays outside the red zone. Brady’s main value add was that he modernized Esminger’s scheme and was heavily involved in game planning. The media essentially lionized him since LSU was putting up absurd stats, but actually...

Brady, perhaps, wasn't calling his offense at Carolina Brady, for certain, was barely calling his offense at LSU

I misspoke lol, arguably the greatest collection of offensive talent in CFB history*

I'm not saying anyone could have ran that team. What I'm saying is the following. Brady did not call plays at LSU, so you can't give him all the credit. Brady was also working with the greatest collection of talent in CFB history, so that has to be factored in. When Brady got his first real...

Coaches make bad hires all the time. Brady is not a bad hire at all. I'd support that hire and be excited. I just think there are more proven and safer options out there.

He took a team that was 97th in S/P+ and made them a top 50 offense. He took an Arkansas team that was 105 in S/P+, made them a top 50 offense, and then this past year made them a top 25 offense. Those are elite results. Brady took a struggling Carolina offense and, well, they still struggled.

Extremely misleading point. LSU's 2019 was the greatest collection of offensive talent in CFB history. Neither LSU nor any other college team besides 2020 Alabama has ever had that collection of talent on offense.

Now you're seeing our point. Brady/Esminger excelled when they had talent. And **** the bed when they didn't. Briles and Mullen have excelled every single year. Every single offense they've touched improved immediately with the same talent. You can't say the same about Brady.

Brady's not with Burrow right now and he's a starting QB in the NFL. The guy had talent. Go look at his numbers pre-Brady the last 4-6 games of the season. They've been posted in this thread.

There's no debate? The man you're clamoring for just got fired cause his offenses sucked ****. Has Briles ever been fired cause his offenses sucked? What about Mullen?

Burrow left and that's what collapsed the offense. They went from the #1 pick in the NFL draft and top QB ever to Max Johnson. They went from 2 first round receivers to 0. They went from the only 1st round RB taken that year to Chris Curry. Brady absolutely modernized the offense. But the most...

Right, but the point is: the offense was operating on an elite level before Brady arrived.

Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

Very important point. Once Burrow settled in, he took off toward the end of the year. Look at TVD. Was meh the first few games and then settled in and took off.

Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

Not persuasive. He didn't call all of the plays at LSU, had perhaps the most talented offense in CFB history, and had a more seasoned play-caller/support staff to help him along. He implemented new concepts, but that doesn't make him a great game-day coach. He then got a solo gig in the NFL and...

Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

LSU never had that type of talent on offense. They've had talented receivers, o-linemen, and QBs, but never all at once, with that amount of quantity, and at that level. Brady also had help from another coordinator and a huge support staff. He's subsequently failed at his first solo gig...

Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

Not being able to get calls in on time is a serious red flag. The best OCs can quickly diagnose another defense and adjust on the fly. That is what separates the elite OCs from a James Coley, who can spend hours scripting a beautiful first drive but can't adjust on the fly when the defense...

Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

Do we multiple NFL olinemen? Do we have multiple first round receivers (Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase)? Do we have a first round running back? When did I say TVD's streak wasn't impressive? It was **** good. But QB isn't the whole team and Joe Burrow had the best statistical year of any QB in...

Joe Brady Interested in OC Job

This exactly. Brady also had generational talent, which he won't have here. Brady has had 3 seasons as an OC. He had 1 elite year and 2 meh years. When he had generational talent at LSU, he produced elite results. When had meh talent at Carolina, he produced meh results. Briles, on the other...
