Philosophically, do you think the tradeoff is acceptable? I'm genuinely asking because I don't really care what we run so long as it works. We do get creased sometimes, we also create a lot of havoc plays.

I agree with the last part, but if we hadn't recruited so poorly at the position, we'd have upperclassmen ready to go. I don't blame guys for getting injured (e.g. Steed), but we should have more bodies in the LB room, IMO. Our LB recruiting: 2017 -- Jennings, Steed, Wilder 2018 -- Joyner...

i think his point is that we shouldn’t be relying on the guys we are after multiple recruiting cycles. LB recruiting has been weak. I like the young guys we have, but as you said, they’re not ready.

I agree LB and CB recruiting have been disappointing.

Isn't that what everybody does, though? I'm just not understanding the panic over the defense.
