    Just add the first 2 numbers. Usually if the first 2 numbers of a defensive alignment are even (IE 3-3-5/3-5-3/4-2-5/4-4, etc.), it's usually an 8 man front.

    Don't know about the CFL, but the 2-4-5 is nothing new. What they call the 2-4-5 now, is nothing more than a variant of what they used to call the Split 4-4. So the 2-4-5 is a member of the 8 man front families (3-3-5,3-5-3,4-4,4-2-5,etc.), not the 4-3, 7 man front families, like the author...
