Ya, but I'll take it. LSU looks a little silly announcing his transfer before the signing deadline.

Carter Young, the recent transfer from Vandy to LSU, signed w the Orioles for $1.3MM as 17th round pick.

Hadn't heard that. The Vandy SS they drafted in 17th round announced his transfer to LSU, so maybe that rumor has legs - fingers crossed.

I am starting to feel less confident in Walters returning. Baltimore will have around $500k to offer him, assuming their 3rd round pick (McClean from Ok St) signs for something near slot. And that assumes Baltimore doesn't exceed their bonus pool, which was the largest in MLB, so their 5% is a...

Meh - unknown. Levenson might have to step up and cut down on the K's.

Let's hope Walters doesn't have a change of heart. Who's going to hit behind Yoyo now?

So you know about playing in a small town environment - it's awesome. I wish we could get more of that electricity back at the Light. And it doesn't help that regionals and supers are always held during S FL's rainy season.

Agree - look at the success of the Savannah Bananas. Definitely a little out there, but it's entertaining and the founder speaks the truth (takes a page from the late Coach Fraser, but on steroids). CBB had better go to a pitch clock, etc. if they want to continue to attract new fans.

Ya, the slot values don't mean as much after the first few rounds. I bet the kid who got the $2,500 was a 4 YR Jr or Sr, i.e. w practically no leverage. Baseball will need the equal of LIV Golf if that's ever to end. That said, the kid who accepted $2,500 probably should have given them the...

If he really wants to play every day, he may regret signing. I am not sure teams are totally transparent w issues like that, but who knows. Best of luck to him whatever he decides. I like that Gino has gone to NE for prospects. Fraser always recruited NJ heavily.

I won't be surprised if Gates DHs for someone else next year.

Thanks for all the commentary, boys. With Cyr, Martin, et. al. undrafted, if we could get both Walters and Burke back next year, this could be one of our deepest rosters in years. 2023, more than ever, will be time for Gino to show he can do more than recruit.

At least MLB got smart w pushing the draft outside of CWS and shortening that signing window.

Do we have any HS recruits who'd sign if drafted in these last 75 picks or so?

Confirming what CTCANE said - I guess it's no harm, no foul from the Orioles perspective (hoping something changes his mind).

Got it, thanks. Let's hope Burke sees where Palm and McFarlane went and wants to get a bigger bonus next year.

Is $125,000 max for that round or can teams use leftover pool money from Rounds 1 - 10?
