Wow - I suspect he'll have a lot shorter leash in the future. If nothing else, these kids can't complain about not getting numerous opportunities to prove themselves. After last year's house cleaning, maybe Gino needed this year to show this core group of players he'd stick w them as long as...

McFarlane is the most logical choice for this Sunday then.

Or tongue in cheek, I guess?

Is that what you've heard or your prediction?

The injury bug is the worst thing that could happen this time of year to the pitching staff, especially the way Rosario's been pitching. Dubberly's "next man up" opportunity in high leverage situations has arrived.

    Weekend Rotation

Unless you mean starting w May 11th game, don't see how that will work. I guess tomorrow's starter will tell us if Gino is considering one of @TheRichtShow's two options above.

And despite more OF woes. Those will catch up to us eventually, though, so let's start catching routine pop-ups guys.

    Weekend Rotation

Fair point. I just thought you open w Ziehl or Rafe and hopefully a combination of McFarlane/Rosario, etc get you to Walters for the close. Opposing managers are forced to make lineup changes more than they like w the opener. And as poorly as McFarlane and Rosario have pitched, they don't seem...

Anyone know if Conference USA TV has improved since last year?

    Weekend Rotation

I'd be fine w that, but Long should start in OF when Garland is pitching. Our OF defense is hurting us in ways that don't show in the box score.

    Weekend Rotation

So, I guess the McFarlane project continues on Sunday. Gino should consider an opener on Sundays (Ziehl?) until someone steps up and proves they can be a consistent weekend starter.

As it should be, as long as he can throw strikes. Will be interesting to see where Rosario fits in if he returns.

I am not either, but it didn't sound good (dead arm after two starts?).

    Weekend Rotation

If Rosario is unable to come back and be effective, might as well get the freshmen in there for experience and see if they can't anchor the weekend rotation the next two years. Look at scane's opening graphic in this thread - possibly only one weekend starter remaining from the original four...

    Weekend Rotation

Palm is obviously our best shot at a W, but if we execute like we did last Sunday and score early in 2 - 3 games, we could win the series. Let's go!

    Weekend Rotation

Idk, Rosario's too talented to drop entirely. But I agree, he hasn't earned the Friday night spot. Move him to Sunday or Wednesday and see if that motivates him to get better and be more effective?

    Weekend Rotation

Let's see what he's got. Btw, Raymond Gil and JU w 3 - 2 win over FSU last night.

    Weekend Rotation

Sure hope so, but it's tough to sweep anyone 4 - 0 in baseball, no matter what the level of opponent. Go Canes. Let's see which players put a foot forward this weekend.
