New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

He has a chance. We are all getting ahead of ourselves (me too) but the athleticism and skill set is there. Now can he accept the responsibility that comes with being counted on this year to produce every game?

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

Nwoko is the most natural fit at the backup 5 based on how he plays right now. But as discussed, his youth may prevent this from becoming a reality. Which forces Casey into that position which he should absolutely be able to hold against other backup 5’s. But Nwoko is the most natural fit.

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

This brings up an interesting issue of who is option 2 on the team this year. Last year Pack, Miller and Wong pretty much took turns depending on who was hot and the matchup. I would expect the same this year for Omier and Wooga.

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

The only thing that can keep Wooga’s scoring numbers down is that he will be the 3rd option. But if UM is scoring 75/game, and Pack is scoring at 18, Omier at 16, I think Wooga falls in around 12-14. Matt Cleveland will get his as well but he should be the 4th option and should put up good...

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

And running. Wooga and Cleveland will put on a dunk contest next year in some games. Our defensive pressure on the wings will be the best we have ever seen but Pack/Bensley have to put some pressure on the primary ball handler like Wong did last year to give the wing defenders a chance...

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

I don’t disagree. I’ve written before that Wooga is best on the baseline where he only needs to make 1-2 dribbles to reach the basket, He does not look like he handled the ball a lot even in high school. He probably always has received the ball on the offensive side of half court and is told...

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

Let’s not argue When we are not disagreeing. We are just discussing what players need to do to improve, and what is in that player’s best interest. We have a great coach under whose tutelage players take big jumps between year 1 and year 2. We all hope that Watson and Casey will be this...

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

Great points. Wooga figured out where to score from, and when to shoot. If Watson and/or Casey can do the same they can be productive but it takes buy in from the players. They do have maybe the best coach in the game for helping them understand how they can be productive.

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

Casey and Watson do not know who they are offensively. As L said, they don’t know what shots to take because they don’t have an offensive identity. Are they inside players? Watson referred to himself as a bid guard??? Last year in pre-game I would see Casey taking 12 foot jump shots, a shot...

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

I love listening to Coach L Wooga at the point in some sets? Has to be to move Pack off the ball to get him shots. But its also great for Wooga and his NBA prospects.

New Players & Upcoming Trip to France

She thinks him speaking creole will help him in France? WTF? Are these reporters really this bad or is this some kind of inside joke of which I am unaware?
