You're thinking of the depth as an "on paper" situation. Think of it as an Miami Hurricanes team. Ideally, we need 2 LBs who are All-Conference capable, and 2 more who won't be targeted when they are in the game. Same for striker, you'd want 2 guys who can make plays in the open field. Now...
