No one is saying polamalu was a better player. Ed is the best safety ever. Polamalu was objectively a better athlete when you take into account size, speed, and strength. That being said, Ed was not a scrub athletically

Compared to polamalu

Polamalu ran a 4.35 and had a 43 inch vert. Reed was not that athletic/explosive. He was much smarter, that’s why he could play in the back

I would say Ed was smarter and Polomalu was more athletic
