So you think there was a change in program philosophy sometime after the 8th inning on Saturday?

It's time that we evolve from the 1970's philosophy that the 2-hole hitter is a punch and judy sac bunt guy. If you don't trust Vilar to get on base or to make solid contact to advance the runners, move DC, Morales, and Toral to 2-3-4.

I agree, there's some juice behind Castillo. It's more about giving up the free out in the 3rd inning. Those guys will still come up to bat even if we don't bunt.

Still can't believe the announcers wanted the runner to go back and tag.

I mean, we get a leadoff single, then the guy walks somebody. Now that we've got him on the ropes......here's a free out AND you don't have to pitch to one of the best hitters in the country.

Especially when we're sac bunting in the 3rd inning.

Or for Morales, who hits in front of Toral.

Maybe we could let the guy before Del Castillo hit as well.

The only money we spend on scouting is to drive to Jupiter and Fort Myers for the big showcase events. What is it that I need to pay attention to? If we had hitters, we would hit. When we do swing early in the count, we're not hitting any better than if we run the count deep.

Old baseball still wins at the college level. Not sure how anyone enjoys watching our guys try to hit home runs against UF's 1st round pitchers. Instead of the showcase heroes who try to hit every ball 600 feet, we need actual hitters.
