Peter Ariz mentioned on his show tonight that he’s hearing Miami is going after a hitting coach from the major league level. He didn’t say any names but makes me think Tosar. He thinks our hitting would make major improvements.

According to his profile, he was their minor league pitching coach from 2007 to 2013.

Who you hearing for hitting coach? I have a hard time seeing Lovelady hired at this point, unless they’re thinking of moving Brewer to a GA role.

Are they getting rid of Brewer? Someone said he was coming back. Pete’s article said they’re also looking at Lovelady and a dedicated hitting coach.

So how can they hire a pitching coach on top of those 3?

What’s the max number of asst coaches they can hire? We had 3 last year, in addition to Gino. It sounds like Brandon Brewer is coming back, Lovelady possible, and someone mentioned Mike Tosar as hitting coach. Can they hire more than 3?
