When was the last time Texas was on top? ATM? Even if UF/FSU/UM were on top again, you still would have a much higher % of top kids leaving state.

Yup, but it’s the culture/mentality nowadays. It’s basically an AAU circuit and kids want to go to the best of the best for the most part. It’s less about the school/city/state pride is and all about putting yourself first above all else. Right or wrong, that’s the sad reality. You see it...
