That’s my point. You could nick pick that about virtually every linebacker. Even in the league. Even guys in the league while they were in college. It happens. That’s football. But more times then not that was not the case with shaq .
now with this kid I’d like to see some of those plays in...
Definitely has short area explosiveness. It shows up on tape. From what I seen from him (only a couple games and his HL tape) sideline to sideline is a question. Playing in space is a question
That did not show up on shaqs tape. Ppl would see a running back or QB or slot WR out run shaq at a angle and see he was slow. But far times then not he was eating up space. To have watched shaq and what he did for 4 years here and question his athleticism at the ILB spot is crazy. No he was not...
0 plays running sideline to sideline. I watched a couple of his games. Looks like very stiff in the open field. But in short areas for sure has explosiveness
I think we saw shaq get outran by RBs and slot WRs at times. But that happens to every ILB on the CFB level. I don’t think that aspect was necessarily a weakness of his. But he definitely wasn’t Lavonte David or that kid from LSU
4.7 is not slow for a ILB. This kid has some short area explosiveness evident by his striking. But he’s far less twitchy in space. Shaq made impressive plays in space even as a true freshman. This kid has 0 of those type of plays. Granted it’s just a HL tape but I’d like to see at glimpses of...
Nah He’s not wayyy more athletic then shaq. Not at all. Most those plays in his highlight are him coming down hill. Absolutely no plays of in space or sideline to sideline. The kid can strike no doubt. But comparing him as a LB to shaq athletically not even close
I agree. If we get him expectations should be tempered. But think if he gets his body right he good do a lot of good things here. You not playing at a consistently high level playing LB at no **** 260
funny thing is when our LBs were in position..mostly by RBs running into them, they tackled well. They struggled seeking out the ball, tracking, taking correct angles, and taking on blocks at the correct angle
I agree. A kid who intrigued me was Jordan Anthony. Former high 4 star out of IMG. Played both ways (running back) but a linebacker. 6”0 230 and can run. Didn’t play much at Michigan. That’s worrisome because that speaks to lack of instincts.
you have the kid out of Texas who looks the part...
Would improve the room, most definitely. Does he come with limitations at that size, for sure..,A 3:00 HL as a soph. Believe he started as a Fresh and played plenty snaps as a soph .honestly tell me what u see
But we need to understand if we land this kid what we are getting....he is a thumper. In the mold of shaq probably even less athleticism. Also Who many on this board trashed.. But I get the hype. Was a highly rated kid. Good instincts that showed up at USC. Needs to try and reshape his body in...
I’ll say this..I had a feeling that kid was coming to Miami..just gotta see how the numbers work out. It’s been reported there’s interest from both sides
