The reinforcements have been coming for 3 years now. Wouldn't recommend holding your breath. We will see the same guys that weren't good enough in "meaningless" game vs Rutgers next year. Maybe a QB and some new DT but the bulk of yesterday is your 2024 starters. That is troubling to me.

If any player on that field didn't care, it's because of coaching.

I honestly don't have a problem with those type guys sitting out the game. They cant raise their draft profile at all. The portal opening before bowl season concludes is the main issue.

The volume of opt outs has changed but its not like teams are fielding 50 man rosters. If the games were treated like the Spring game, I would have a different opinion but I havent seen a single game where one team used it as an exhibition. Yes teams are at less than full strength but it's not...
